Warm, practical coaching for capable people who feel stuck, flat or off-track.
TL;DR: No jargon, no judgement, no telling you how to live your life. Show up messy and imperfect. We'll cut through the noise, get clear on what you want and plan what comes next. Sometimes nothing is terribly wrong, but something doesn't feel quite right. You might be successful on paper, getting on with work and family life, and perfectly capable of functioning. But scratch the surface and there's a nagging sense that you're stuck, drifting or going round in circles. I call it lifeache. I'm Vicki, founder of Aligned North. Before becoming a life coach I spent 25 years working as a doctor. Listening carefully, asking good questions and helping people make sense of complicated situations has been part of my working life for a long time. Nothing phases me. My coaching style is warm, practical and down-to-earth. I'm not interested in pretending that life is simple, that positive thinking fixes everything or that you need someone shouting at you to try harder. We can talk honestly about what's working, what isn't, what you actually want and what might realistically need to change. I believe mistakes and past attempts are useful information, not evidence that you've failed. You don't need to turn up with the answers, a five year plan and perfectly completed homework. You do need to be willing and honest. That's all. Coaching with me is conversational and relaxed, but it has a purpose. Less noise, more clarity and a workable next step. If you're seeking a guru, relentless accountability, manifestation or someone to tell you how to live your life, I'm probably not the coach for you. You'll enjoy working with me if you want kindness without fluff, challenge without judgement and someone alongside you while you work things out. The professionalism of a qualified doctor and the comfort of chatting with a trusted friend? I'm the one! I'm married with a teenage son and a cat. We live on the edge of the beautiful Peak District where I was a mountain rescue doctor for ten years with Buxton Team. I enjoy CrossFit and fitness racing. I love balancing healthy home cooked meals with comfort baking on cold rainy days. I'm in a lifelong battle with my garden (and am currently in a winning phase). I enjoy supporting our local football team, Macclesfield FC, and am a whizz at Premier League Fantasy Football. I like to relax with a cosy crime novel or endless repeats of Midsomer Murders, Slow Horses and Ludwig. Please note that whilst I remain on the GMC register as a qualified doctor in good standing, I do not give medical advice nor prescribe. Find me here: https://www.gmc-uk.org/registrants/4538204
A free 20 minute discovery call to see if coaching with me feels like a good fit. We'll talk about what's going on for you, what you're hoping for and how I might be able to help. There's no pressure or obligation - just a chance to explore things together.
This slightly longer appointment allows for some admin time and information gathering at the start before we get to work on your goals. You don't have to fill the whole session but it does mean we don't have to rush.
This is the regular length coaching session after the first, slightly longer one. It usually lasts 50-60 minutes and is focused entirely on you and your goals. We'll explore what's going on, bring clarity to what matters and work through practical next steps. These sessions offer a supportive, non-judgemental time to think clearly, build confidence and make measurable progress.
An interim chat between scheduled sessions if you want to retain accountability or would like a pep talk and review.
A four session bundle at a reduced rate to help get you started on your way. Four sessions will allow plenty of time to work through, and review, a couple of meaningful goals.
A six session package once you're well on your way. A reduced rate but commitment to six sessions for accountability and momentum.
